Kevin Sport/Alabama Soul
What started out as a song and an album project in Muscle Shoals, turned into a show. Alabama Soul is a song, an album series, and a show filled with soulful, americana music that consist of many great hit songs that had their origins in the historic musical vein of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Our set list include hits from Ottis Redding, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, The Staple Singers, Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Wilson Pickett, Van Morrison, Percy Sledge, Alabama, Earl Thomas Conely, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Joe Cocker, Aretha Franklin, Delbert McClinton and many more…..most of which crossed paths in Muscle Shoals to find that unique rhythm and blues sound that was driven from a mixture of gospel, blues, rock and country.
Our band consists of the best singers and musicians from the Muscle Shoals and Nashville area. Many of which toured or played with some of the artists we cover in our show. Alabama Soul also consists of singer songwriters like Mark Narmore who plays piano and wrote hit songs like “Moon over Georgia”, and “That’s what I love about Sundays”. Mark also co-wrote many of the original songs on the Alabama Soul album series.
Kevin Sport, an Alabama native, is the lead vocalist, singer songwriter, and artist that created Alabama Soul after writing the song with Mark and recording at Nutthouse Studio in Muscle Shoals. Kevin has worn a few hats in his career. He’s a natural southern soul crooner, and songwriter, but his career includes TV host and theater. His most cherished role is being a Brand Representative for Alabama’s own, Conecuh Sausage Company. Kevin wrote the jingle, “Get your Grill On” and you can be sure that every show will have some Conecuh Sausage served! You can visit justkevinsport.com for more music, and information.
Alabama Soul is an amazing, fun, show. If you’d like to book this experience for your event, visit our contact page.
